An agency of the European Union

 R & D Projects

The following projects have been co-financed by the CPVO :

  1. Literature study: Status quo of the knowledge on phytoplasma with the focus on Euphorbia pulcherrima and other ornamental plants.
  2. Research project on the impact of phytoplasma strains on the phenotypical expression of poinsettia varieties.
  3. Study of the possibility of using isoenzyme markers for assessment of distinctness, uniformity and stability in Calluna vulgaris L.
  4. Harmonization of resistance tests to diseases of vegetable crops in the European Union.
  5. Creation of a common Maize Data Base for DUS studies through a partnership between Spain, Germany, France and the CPVO
  6. Construction of an integrated microsatellite and key morphological characteristic database of potato varieties in the EU Common Catalogue
  7. A European reference collection of rose varieties.
  8. Co-financing of reference collections of ornamental species (Chrysanthemums and Dahlias).
  9. Management of winter oilseed rape reference collection.
  10. Study on Farm Saved Seed in the European Union.
  11. Development and evaluation of molecular markers linked to disease resistance genes for tomato DUS testing (option 1a).
  12. Management of Peach tree reference collections.
  13. A potential upov option 2 approach for barley using high density snp genotyping.

  • Harmonization of resistance tests to diseases of vegetable crops in the European Union.

    • Final report:

Three national variety examination offices in France (FR), Spain (ES) and the Netherlands (NL) proposed to evaluate and harmonize a set of disease resistance tests on vegetable crops. This report presents the results of ring tests obtained after the realization of 3 test phases, which enabled to propose reference standards for cultivars, strains and protocols.
